This is what I am currently trying to accomplish in my wardrobe...pieces that POP!

Lately I have been feeling like my wardrobe is very monotonous and very unoriginal. I want more statement pieces. I want more clothing articles that will turn heads when I walk in the room. I'm not the kind of person that likes TOO much attention...BUT fashion is fashion and it should be a bit loud. This mans blazer is a perfect example of a clothing article with POP. You can't help but stare at this man when he walks in the room. I know I couldn't stop staring at his blazer...and when I realized I was staring a bit too much I decided to take a picture of it and him.

Zoora Website Launch Party...

It's a party! It's a party! It's a party!

About two weeks ago I attended the Zoora website launch party which I was kindly invited to by my good friend Holly from Covetous Creatures. The launch was held on the third floor of the Apple store on Boylston Street which is convenient for a website launch. Sadly I got to the Apple store 20 minutes before the event ended and couldn't get any pictures at the original event. Instead I went to the after party held at the Charlesmark Hotel and took my pictures there. The lighting conditions were less than ideal...BUT I did the best I could. It was an honor meeting Aubrie Pagano the smart and beautiful owner of the website. We talked a bit about the website and fashion and all that good stuff. It was definitely a night to remember and it was a lot of fun.

This man reminds me of...me!

How does he remind me of me? Notice how he is wearing a solid color(navy) for a shawl collar sweater and chinos. He then draws all the attention to his brown shoes. I use this trick many times when I either want people to literally look at my shoes or simply because I like it. It adds POP to your ensemble which is many times important for people to notice you.......that is if you even want to be noticed.

It's funny how I sometimes notice people's ensembles...
I noticed the blonde woman's ensemble when I was walking around L'Apogee in the Biltmore Hotel in between shows and I noticed her tattoo on her back. Sadly I forgot to ask her for a picture of it. I thought it was cute and that caused me to notice her ensemble. Which led to me noticing her friends ensemble and then led to me asking them for their picture.

Most of the time strange things like this happens when I am looking for someone to shoot. Sometimes the clothing is loud enough to draw me to shoot the person and other times it's little strange details which cause me to ask for someones picture.

Despite what anyone else says or thinks...I think hipsters are very fashionable individuals and they deserve credit.

I found these two women browsing around/shopping at the Brooklyn Flea Market and what originally caught my attention to them were their shoes. I love how they look beat up and worn. Typically, I like my shoes to look a bit worn out as well. Also couldn't help but notice the HUGE scarf on the woman to the left. I feel like big scarfs are starting to trend and I don't mind it. I am actually considering buying a big scarf for myself, but with the warm weather we are experiencing in Boston for this time of the year...I doubt I will need a big scarf any time soon.

When the lovely Christina Pierce invited me to the Samuel Vartan show at The Liberty Hotel a week ago...there was no way I could miss it.

I remember the Samuel Vartan fashion show from last seasons StyleWeek Providence and I remember how well his collection was put together. I love the edginess of his new collection. The leathers and suede's and cashmere's are something to die for! When I asked him about this collection he told me it was a very personal collection to him since this resembled his youth. He used to be in a punk rock band and he used some of his roots to inspire this collection. It paid off in the end because it looks fabulous.

As I was walking around Soho, I saw this man from a distance and knew I had to capture his style.

Something about him called out to me. I stopped walking just as he was walking by and shot him. This was one of the very few stylish people I was able to find and shoot in SoHo. More pictures to come very soon!

This man is so spectacular that he literally posed this way for me and told me he wanted me to use this picture for my blog.

The picture was taken a few months ago for the Spirited Magazine's 4th edition release party. It's safe to say that this man has been one of my all time favorite/unique/friendliest people I've shot.

I am finally back in Boston after one of the BEST long weekends I have ever had. StyleWeek Providence is around the corner and so is New York Fashion Week and those are two events which I cannot wait to attend. SO I am in Boston....but not for long.

I swear there is a "I have a cooler beanie than you" contest at the Brooklyn Flea Market.
Mostly everyone at the Brooklyn Flea Market is wearing a beanie this time of the year due to the cold weather and they all have incredibly amazing beanies. The funny thing is that barely anyone at the Flea Market actually sells beanies. I ended up buying a beanie made for the army which is really warm and I really like.

I was at the Brooklyn Flea Market yesterday and I came across this man who was leaning against the wall waiting for someone to buy from his booth/area. What intrigued me the most were his boots and his cardigan and I had to ask him for a picture. He was very nice and let me take a few shots of him leaning against the wall and such. I realize that as I continue to ask people for their pictures I am able to handle those situations in a way where the person feels comfortable and I get the shots that I want. My job gets easier the more I continue to do it.

It was my first time at Brooklyn Flea Market and I feel I must tell you...it's a REVELATION! It was probably one of the coolest shopping experiences I have ever had. So many interesting old antiques which can be put to use. I concluded that I am going to go back and buy TONS of decorative items and decorate my home with them. If you haven't been to the Flea Market I strongly recommend you stop by if you are ever in New York. I will be posting more pictures on my first experience at the Brooklyn Flea Market and Brooklyn.

The boots! Oh, the boots!

I have never been a fan of Dr. Martens boots, but this pair I really do like. Maybe this has something to do with my love for the color Maroon/Burgundy. I feel like Dr. Martens boots are too badass for me to pull off, yet I do admire those that can pull those off. Also notice the jeans are tucked into his socks...a winter look for sure. It does help that it was chilly that day in Georgetown.

Just a couple photos of me taken while I was waiting for my food at restaurant in Maryland. I ate very late that night at around 10:30 PM because I decided to spend ALL day sightseeing in Washington D.C. and in Georgetown where I shot a few people for this blog. The food was delicious and I spent it with a great bunch of people that night. I spent my New Years Eve at the Sheraton hotel in Times Square. While I was at their club lounge spending quality time with my family I spot this woman ordering a couple drinks. I loved her ensemble! Out of everyone at the lounge...her ensemble was the only one that caught my eye. I love her glasses and how chic yet nerdy they are. This look reminds me a bit of a Parisian chic due to all the black and white. I will be shooting in Boston again very soon so stay tuned for that. It's going to be a new year so I think it is only fitting that I remake my blog.
I was not too happy with how it was before...SO I changed it. I have decided that from now on I want to make the blog more about the pictures and the people I shoot rather than any other unimportant thing. I still have to add and tweak a few things here and there BUT overall...this is it. Sadly I forgot to take a picture of what we were eating BUT if you are super curious...it was sushi. We were at the Wicked Fit premier event at the Red Lantern which I had never been to. I didn't even know it was an Asian restaurant. Turns out their sushi is delicious! I'm not a HUGE sushi fan, but I am not against it either. I like to try new things and my friend and I shared an order of sushi and it was amazing. I definitely recommend you pay the Red Lantern a visit if you haven't done so already. If you have...stop by again to taste their delicious food and enjoy their crazy decorations.

I have been taking people's pictures for a while now and it is safe to say I have quite the collection of people pictures. It is also safe to say I have shot multiple styles and multiple types of ensembles. What I'm trying to say with all of this is that a simple ensemble like the one worn by Miss Massachusetts 2010(above)...I've seen several times. The LBD, the clutch and the heels. What makes this ensemble and other looks just as simple as this one special is the tiny details. Just look at those heels...they are something to marvel at! If I am not mistaken...look at her ring(same hand she's holding her clutch with)...it's HUGE! She looks absolutely chic. Just remember people...if you are going for a simple look please make sure the details are on point.

Emily Muller Boston Fashion Week 2011...

The Emily Muller show was fantastic! Literally. It was more suited for a younger audience and it was more for women who want to look chic out on the street or at a bar. I couldn't see any of Emily Muller's pieces being worn to an office...unless you work for a wicked cool company who doesn't care so much for a strict dress code. The collection was inspired by parachutes. Parachutes are big and have a ton of flow to them. This inspiration explains the extremely well placed leather straps. In my opinion...the straps were literally the BEST touch the collection could ever have. Emily Muller really has an eye for detail and I appreciate that. It certainly shows in her work...and I tried to capture some of the details. The collection was a delight to watch. I must thank Emily Muller for inviting me to her show and her after party!

People tend to look at the general look of garments BUT forget the small details which can in many occasions make or break the garment/ensemble. Do not forget about the details! There Is A First Time For Everything...

This is the woman who made my life. Literally. So it's my first day at Boston Fashion Week and the day has ended and no more shows left. Everyone is leaving to go home. I am with my blogger friends meeting models and designers and everyone. We finally decide to leave and we are walking down a set of stairs. I spot the woman in the picture by the exit doors and I think to myself, "She must end up on my blog! I need her picture!" Before I even get the chance to verbalize my thoughts, SHE asks me if I was THE TrendyDwarf. I reply with a yes, and to that she asks if she can get a picture of me. I could never refuse such an offer and I let her get her picture. I also asked her for her picture and she was more than happy to allow me to shoot her. It was so surreal. I have never had someone recognize me AND ask for a picture of me. Don't get me wrong...I have had people recognize me on the street BUT never ask for a picture. By the way, I will NEVER get used to people recognizing me on the street. It amazes me every single time and I feel so lucky when someone does recognize me. This woman was my first and I thank her for doing what she did. I know she owns a blog BUT I can't find the card on which she wrote her blog name. All I know is that I did check her blog out and it's AMAZING.

I love being part of the small dedicated fashion community here in Boston. I have made so many friends(like Martini and Nicole in the picture above) and I always enjoy their company. It literally is the BEST feeling when I walk into an event and find myself in the presence of another blogger that I know.We may come from different places or backgrounds BUT we all have one thing in common and that is our love for fashion. Avni Trivedi Boston Fashion Week 2011...

Avni Trivedi's show was ready-to-wear and was meant for a business woman. Her clothing had a very enchanting and mystical feel to it. Almost as if a fairy or some tiny adorable mystical creature could wear it. Maybe I'm just crazy and come up with random things. I don't know. What I do know is that I enjoyed this collection very much! The clothing was elegant and formal, but keeping a casual, loose, comfortable feel to it. What was so spectacular about Avni's show was the Irish step dancing at the beginning of the show with two women. It was unbelievable and it definitely set the tone for the rest of the show. I must thank Avni Trivedi for inviting me to her show and allowing me to be there and watch such a great show. I really appreciate it!

Take a second and marvel at this ridiculously well done transformation. My friends Nicole, Holly, and Amanda(all bloggers by the way) were able to take Amanda's(first picture) rain coat and transform it into jumper and make it look good! The lovely Nicole is wearing it. Holly and Amanda both styled it and wrapped it around Nicole. We were probably styling and arranging the ensemble for at least 15 minutes. Mike&Ton AND Michael DePaulo Boston Fashion Week 2011...

The Mike&Ton collection was pretty chic. It was very ready-to-wear and the audience is a conservative business woman who's trying to look good at the office and is hitting up a bar/club after work. I enjoyed some of the garments. I mainly liked the ones with a pop of color to them or something completely unexpected. It was executed excellently. Right after the Mike&Ton show the announcer told us to stay in our seats because a separate Michael DePaulo show was going to be happening in a few minutes. While we're all waiting in The Tent, a harpist comes out and serenades us all with beautiful melodic music. It was a long while since I had heard a harp and it certainly was refreshing. After about seven minutes the Michael DePaulo show starts and beautiful models start walking out onto the runway wearing breathtaking gowns. I might have fallen in love...just a bit. The details were what made every gown so special. I loved it! Thank you to Mike&Ton for inviting me to their show(s)! I really enjoyed it and I acknowledge all the work that went into getting me a seat at the show. Thank you so very much!

I've seen this trend on way too many women BUT only very few have succeeded at pulling it off. In my opinion...women with shorter hair typically pull it off better than those with longer hair. I don't know why this is, but I am simply stating my opinion based on my observations.

Boston Fashion Week was probably one of the BEST experiences/time I've had in a very very long while. I met so many amazing people and saw some old friends which I had been dying to see. I was able to experience The Tent in every way possible, whether it was in the front row or second row or third row...I enjoyed myself. Being front row was a dream come true for me and I seriously thank those designers(whom I will mention in their own posts) who put me in the front row. Thank you to ALL the designers who invited me to their show and I apologize to those designers whose shows I missed due to personal reasons. I am probably the WORST stalker in the world. Literally. This is bad...just bad. I have to stop it, but I can't especially when it has to do with an interestingly dressed person walking the street. Notice this mans subtle details: the backpack, the sneakers, the color combination/contrast between the green sweater and orange backpack. Sometimes it's not necessarily the WHOLE ensemble that must look perfect, but as long as there are some crucial details in an ensemble...it's worthy of a compliment.

I love the distorted striped shirt! It's literally what caught my attention. On the other hand, while I was talking to this woman I could not stop staring at her tattoo on her chest. I was piecing the whole tattoo together in my head. Oh, and did I mention she has a piercing at the exact center of her bee's nest? Yeah...she's badass and doesn't give a f*ck and I like it. So far it's working for her.

Alright, I am going to make this post as plain and simple as I can.

I started this blog back in May of 2009 with no hopes of it ever going anywhere and a vague idea of what I wanted to do with it. I wanted to do street style but lacked the knowledge of how to do it and how to run a blog. I started getting the hang of street style picture taking last year and have been pretty successful ever since. Through out the entire duration of my blog and me shooting street style I have been shooting with is an old version of the Canon PowerShot SX130 IS(mine is nothing like what it is now). It's a decent camera which has been good to me through out all this time. (Below is a picture of my camera.)

My camera has fulfilled its purpose and I can't complain, BUT with all of my events and Fashion Week and people whose pictures I am taking...I need to upgrade to something a bit more professional and better. I am asking for YOUR help with achieving my goal of upgrading my camera. If you have read my blog in the past you would know I am tight on money. The camera I would like to upgrade to is a Canon EOS Rebel T1i EF-S 18-55IS. It is everything I could ever ask for in a camera. I've been doing my research and I found it is cheaper to buy on Ebay($599.99) as opposed to from Canon($749.99). So I plan on buying the camera for $599.99 from Ebay. (The camera below is the camera I would like to upgrade to.)

I know for sure I could produce a way better quality blog/pictures if I owned this camera and it would certainly benefit us all. I am asking...NO...begging you to help me out. I have set up a page at the top of this blog where you can donate money to a Paypal account that I made. That page will be up until I have enough money to pay for my camera and then I will take it down. The purpose for this blog was never and has never been to make money from it and I will keep it that way. I am simply asking for YOUR help with upgrading my camera for this blog. I will also have the exact amount of money donated posted on the page so that you know how much is needed and to help you consider how much you could donate. I am not looking to make a single cent over $599.99 which is the cost of the camera. Please donate any amount you think this blog is worth. I love how these two are wearing ensembles which compliment each others looks. It's almost like a Ying-Yang where you need both halves to make the whole. Also notice how they could almost pass for two badass, rebellious, I-don't-give-a-flying-f*ck type of girls with their style. Notice the girl on the right tattoos on her feet. I am going to assume one foot says LOVE and the other HATE. They look absolutely gorgeous and that's final.

Not old in the sense that they're old due to their age. They're old friends because I've met them before. Do you get it now? Sean and Justin always look good! They are flawless when it comes to dressing themselves and they do the whole preppy look really well. I feel so lucky I spotted them both on their way to the Copley Fashion Show as I was leaving the first show because if I hadn't spotted them...I would've missed this terrific shot!
